Evolution of Company
Nike started off being a 2-3 person operation, so it didn't really have corporate governance. It only took a few years for the company to get up and running, and by the time Blue Ribbon Sports became Nike, the company had its corporate governance under control. For Nike didn't have the best record of CSR, or ethical behavior. In Nike's early years the company was infamous for its oversees sweatshops. The contractors working for Nike were hiring underage kids at extremely low wages, and Nike was doing nothing about because it was saving them money. Nike has since gained a conscious and audits its overseas contractors to ensure that employees are of age and treated fairly.
