Lawrence Kohlberg's Stages
LEGO is under the postconventional, social contract stage. This stage's definition says, "At this stage, a person is focused on individual rights and the development of standards based on critical examination---that is, something is right or wrong because it has withstood scrutiny by the society in which the principle is accepted" (Ghillyer 12).
The LEGO company wants its customers and employees to have individual rights and not ever be judged. The company wants to make sure that anyone can buy from them and anyone is a loud to work for them. In LEGO's code of conduct it reads, "Discrimination, directly or indirectly, in hiring and employment practices on grounds of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, age, national, social or ethnic origin, property, sexual orientation, birth or other status must not be engaged in or supported." LEGO wants everyone to be a part of them and LEGO also wants to help everyone out as well.
